Frequently Asked Questions

What are your fees?
I charge £45 per 50 minute session but have reduced fee spaces when available for those on low incomes. Please ask if you feel unable to pay this amount as I am very happy to discuss and help wherever possible. I also offer reduced fees to trainee counsellors by negotiation.

Where do the sessions take place?
At my practice room in Kingsnorth, Ashford, Kent. There are excellent transport links close by. I am able to work with you face to face or if you prefer via Zoom or Face Time.

When do you work?
I work most weekdays, some evenings and at the weekend in special circumstances.

What if I miss a session?
If you are able to give me 24 hours notice there will be no charge, unfortunately if at short notice the full fee will be due. Counselling is very much a contract between yourself and me and for it to be successful you will need to be committed to attending regularly. It is rarely helpful to dip in and out of and then becomes a negative experience and unnecessary expense for you!

How long do we meet for and how often?
We meet for a 50 minute session, once a week initially but this will be negotiated during the initial assessment. The counselling I offer is open-ended. The actual number of sessions are entirely determined by you but research shows that it is usually after 6-8 sessions that clients begin to feel some change taking place.

Do you offer telephone or online counselling?
I am currently offering online sessions via Zoom or FaceTime.
